AG ENGINEERING

Agriculture, Food, and Natural Resources prepares students for careers in the agriculture sector by helping them attain essential academic skills and knowledge. This course focuses on career opportunities, personal development, globalization, industry standards, and best practices. To ensure success, students will have opportunities to learn, reinforce, and apply their knowledge and skills in various settings. Open to grades 9-12, this course offers 1 credit.

Agricultural Mechanics & Metal Technologies prepares students for careers in agriculture by developing skills and understanding related to safety in various tool operations. The course covers essential techniques in electrical wiring, plumbing, carpentry, fencing, concrete, and metalworking. Open to grades 10-12, this course offers 1 credit and requires Principles of Agriculture, Food & Natural Resources as a prerequisite.

Agricultural Equipment Design and Fabrication enables students to acquire knowledge and skills related to the design and fabrication of agricultural equipment. Open to grades 11-12, this course offers 1 credit and requires Principles of Agriculture, Food & Natural Resources as a prerequisite.

This course prepares students for careers in mechanized agriculture and technical systems by developing knowledge and skills related to agriculture facilities and design with a practicum in this area. The practicum course is a paid or unpaid capstone experience for students participating in a coherent sequence of career and technical education courses. Ag teacher must approve any student wishing to enroll in this two-hour class. Grade level 11-12; 2 Credits. Prerequisite: Teacher approval, Agricultureal Mechanics & Metal Technologies or Veterinary Medical Application

Certification course covering the procedures required by the American Welding Society and in conjunction with testing parameters as prescribed by the Welding Procedures Specifications for completing the sheet metal workers welding test.
